The HR module of Banner delivers functionality which allows the electronic creation, approval and tracking of transactions related to employees and their jobs. No such functionality exists to create, approve, adjust and abolish positions, necessitating the use of paper forms and an inefficient, manual process. Management Information Systems enhanced the delivered functionality to create the ability to electronically process, approve and route position transactions. Since implementation in January 2013, over 2,000 transactions were electronically created using this new capability, contributing to greater efficiency within the Human Resources Offices, Financial Planning and Budget Office, and across campus. In addition, there has been great interest in adopting UNCG’s code at other UNC institutions, potentially extending this increased efficiency beyond the UNCG campus.
