What: Planned maintenance for Canvas
When: Friday, April 21 (no downtime expected)
Why: Mandatory updates by Canvas vendor
On Friday, April 21, Instructure (the vendor who provides Canvas) will be performing mandatory updates to the Canvas user authentication workflow. Instructure does not anticipate any service interruption for Canvas during this maintenance work.
No actions on the part of UNCG Information Technology Services (ITS) are required for these updates. In the case of an unexpected problem, ITS is prepared with a recovery/backup plan, in order to minimize any end-user impact or interruption of service.
ITS will remain in close contact with Instructure this week. If the situation changes and an outage or interruption of service for Canvas is anticipated, this news article will be updated with more information.
