Update (Resolved): 10/29/2018, 1:15 p.m.

An issue at Instructure (the vendor who provides Canvas) occurred this morning that affected their connection to the Amazon Web Services (AWS) storage platform that Canvas uses for file storage. This issue was first acknowledged at 10:52 a.m. and was announced as resolved at 12:32 p.m. Canvas file uploads and downloads, and other operations that rely on those functionalities, are back to normal at this time.

ITS and Instructure will continue to monitor service. ITS apologizes for any inconvenience caused by this issue.

Information Technology Services (ITS) is aware of an issue affecting file uploads and downloads in Canvas. Currently, users are encountering error messages when uploading files to or downloading files from Canvas, or when performing operations in Canvas that require duplication of files (such as Course Copy).

Instructure (Canvas) has acknowledged the issue on their status page. There is currently no specific timeline for a fix, but Canvas support has acknowledged that work is ongoing.

ITS apologizes for any inconvenience caused by this issue. This article will be updated with more information as it becomes available.
