RE: Information Security Awareness Training

Each year, all active University faculty and staff are required to complete information security awareness training. This training is an essential component of our overarching information security initiative.

As UNCG administrators, faculty, and staff, we individually and collectively are responsible for:

  • protecting our students and academic data;
  • ensuring the integrity of UNCG research data;
  • securing our critical academic and administrative systems; and
  • complying with data-protection laws and regulations.

Information security awareness training ensures our knowledge of information security threats, requirements, and resources, and enables us to fulfill our individual roles in protecting UNCG’s critical information systems and assets.

To maintain access to the campus network, all faculty and staff must complete the course within 90 days (by May 5, 2019). New employees must complete the course within 30 days of their start date. The training will take no more than one (1) hour to complete.

To access the course, log into Canvas (the UNCG online learning management system), then click on 2019 UNCG Information Security Awareness Training.
