Browser notifications are becoming a channel for spam, advertisements, and other unwanted pop-up messages. When a website gets permission to send notifications to a browser, ads from that company or merchant are sent directly to that computer. This can lead to a flood of pop-up messages that can compromise the performance of computers and other devices. For these reasons, it is best to BLOCK (or DENY depending on the prompt) notifications from advertisers. If the notifications are already permitted, they can be disabled. Learn how to do that at Disabling Popup Notifications.
