Cisco recently informed customers about vulnerabilities in some older versions of the Webex Network Recording Player and Webex Player on Windows computers.

Due to these security concerns, all users of Webex on Windows-based computers should uninstall the Cisco Webex Network Recording Player and/or Cisco Webex Player if the installed versions are older than WBS 39.5.5.

MacOS is not affected by the reported vulnerabilities.

Webex Players

Although Webex players are not required to use Webex, they are required to play recordings that are in the ARF and WRF formats. ARF files require the Network Recording Player, and WRF files require the Webex Player.

Webex players are not needed to play MP4-format recordings (most common).

If ARF or WRF recordings have ever been played on a Windows computer, a player should be installed on that device.

In the lower left-hand corner of the Windows TaskBar, click on the magnifying glass, and search for Webex Player.

Open Webex Player.

Click on the Help menu and select About Webex Player.
