What: Semesterly MyCloud User Profile Reset
When: Friday, August 16, 2019
Why: Fall Semester 2019 refresh and troubleshoot from July 30 migration
Information Technology Services (ITS) will reset all User Profiles for the Campus Desktop and associated applications in MyCloud.
User profiles store application and Windows OS settings, including custom printer or drive mappings. Personal data stored in folders, such as Desktop or Documents, will NOT be deleted.
This refresh helps fix issues that may have occurred as a result of the user-profile migration that took place on July 30, 2019.
Below are some examples of error messages that users may have gotten after the migration that this refresh should fix.
- “Windows cannot access \\spartantemp\users\username\mycloud\desktop”
- “Problem with Shortcut” for WINWORD.EXE, EXCEL.EXE or other Office shortcuts
Student Desktop does not use user profile management and will not be affected by this refresh.
