Information Technology Services

As of March 16, Zoom is available alongside UNCG’s other videoconferencing options, Webex and Google Meet. All UNCG faculty, staff, and students are eligible for accounts. UNCG Information Technology Services (ITS) added this service to meet the rising demand for videoconferencing solutions in light of COVID-19-related remote-instruction mandates.

Accessing Zoom

UNCG users should follow the instructions in Zoom @ UNCG to sign in to the new service. Zoom uses UNCG’s latest single sign-on (SSO) offering, Azure. Users who have not yet used Azure SSO must complete the new Self-Service Password Recovery (SSPR) process. Users who are not familiar with the process should read Identity Access Management (IAM) FAQs

Desktop and Mobile Clients

For UNCG-managed Windows computers, users can download the Zoom desktop client from the Application Catalog (AppCat). A desktop client for Mac computers is available from the Zoom Download Center.

Zoom is available for mobile devices at the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.

Zoom in Canvas

Like Webex, Zoom can be accessed directly in Canvas courses if instructors implement the tool in their courses. To use Zoom in a course, faculty should follow the instructions in Zoom: In Canvas.

Zoom in the ITS Knowledge Base

The ITS knowledge base contains knowledge articles to help users get started with Zoom. Zoom @ UNCG provides a top-level view of information and links for a wide range of Zoom resources.
