Apple has announced the latest version of macOS, Big Sur. It is officially version 11 of the operating system, marking the end of version 10, which was introduced on March 24, 2001.
Information Technology Services (ITS) and the Mac Advisory Committee will evaluate macOS Big Sur for compatibility with enterprise applications and network configurations. The schedule for past major version releases has typically been late September or early October. ITS will post additional announcements as the release date approaches.
