Who: Students, faculty, and staff who record Zoom meetings

What: Deletion of all UNGG Zoom cloud recordings created prior to September 1, 2020

When: Friday, December 11, 2020

Due to an unanticipated number of Zoom meetings, UNCG is close to exceeding our allotted Zoom cloud storage. Consequently, Information Technology Services (ITS) will delete all Zoom cloud recordings that were created prior to September 1, 2020. The deletion will occur on Friday, December 11, 2020, and will ensure that Zoom cloud storage remains available for all UNCG users. Users that need to keep any cloud recordings that were made prior to September 1, 2020, should take the required steps to download these recordings prior to their deletion on December 11, 2020.

ITS also asks that anyone with Zoom cloud recordings made on or after September 1, 2020 download and delete those recordings at the semester’s end. Recordings can be stored locally and/or moved into another cloud storage platform for sharing purposes. Visit Managing Cloud Recordings for additional information about downloading and storing recordings.

In preparation for the Spring 2021 semester, all instructors who plan to use the Zoom-Canvas integration to schedule and record meetings should enable Panopto Video in their course before hosting any Zoom meetings. This setting ensures that all Zoom cloud recordings for class meetings are automatically transferred to Panopto.
