What: Planned maintenance for the campus phone system
When: Wednesday, December 16, 2020, 5:30 a.m. – 7:30 a.m.
Why: Maintenance is required to prepare the campus phone system for migration from the VoIP system to Microsoft Teams cloud voice, the new cloud-based phone service, that was announced previously on ITS News and by University Communications.
Calls to and from Cisco phones on the UNCG network will be intermittently unavailable between 5:30 a.m. and 7:30 a.m. on Wednesday, December 16, 2020. Outages are expected to be very brief.
Emergency lines that operate on the AT&T Centrex system such as fire alarms lines, elevator lines, area of rescue, and most blue towers will not be affected by this change and will continue to operate as normal.
