What: Planned maintenance for the campus phone system
When: Thursday, December 17, 2020, 5:30 a.m. – 7:30 a.m.
Why: Additional time is needed for the phone system work that occurred on Wednesday, December 16, 2020.
ITS is preparing the campus phone system for migration from the VoIP system to Microsoft Teams cloud voice, the new cloud-based phone service that was announced previously on ITS News and by University Communications.
Calls to and from Cisco phones on the UNCG network will be intermittently unavailable between 5:30 a.m. and 7:30 a.m. on Thursday, December 17, 2020. Outages are expected to be very brief.
Emergency lines that operate on the AT&T Centrex system such as fire alarms lines, elevator lines, area of rescue, and most blue towers will not be affected by this change and will continue to operate as normal.
