To continue providing the highest-level service to the UNCG community while managing COVID 19-related budgetary constraints, the 6-TECH Service Desk is refocusing efforts.

Our new hours of operation are designed to provide support for the most clients possible, while maintaining adequate staffing levels. 6-TECH is also adding new avenues of support in the coming months, including virtual agent support and live agent chat support. Development of these services is currently underway. They will be announced as they become available.

Starting Monday, January 4, 2021, the normal business hours for the 6-TECH Service Desk will be Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.

This includes:

  • Phone support, 336.256.8324 (From a UNCG campus phone, just dial 6-TECH.)
  • Live agent chat support, available at 6tech.uncg.edu (login required)

The following services are available 24×7, but only monitored during normal operating hours:

The 6-TECH Service Desk, including live agent chat support, will be closed on University holidays.

Note about Classroom Technology assistance: Classroom Technology assistance is available Monday through Thursday, 7:30 a.m.9:00 p.m., and Friday, 7:30 a.m. 5:00 p.m. During these hours, instructors can get immediate technical assistance via the AV Assist button from the instructor’s station. Alternatively, instructors can submit a 6-TECH ticket or email 6tech@uncg.edu 24×7, and Classroom Technology will respond during normal business hours.
