Information Technology Services

Who: All users of UNCG network, internet, and voice services

What: Planned downtime for all campus network, internet, and voice services (including IP phones)

When:  Saturday, May 15, 2021, 12:01 a.m. – noon

Information Technology Services (ITS) will perform the annual data center redundancy testing to ensure that data center-based services remain available in the event of an unexpected equipment failure.

Affected services include the following:

  • Internet connectivity to Gateway University Research Park North Campus (Dixon and Mehl buildings) will be sporadically unavailable during the testing.

  • Major campus services will be intermittently unavailable until testing is complete. These services include iSpartan (Gmail), UNCGenie, Banner, Canvas, UNCG websites, computer logins, internet access, and voice services.

Services not affected during the downtime include elevator lines, fire alarm lines, and other emergency phones (Centrex services).

ITS appreciates your patience during this necessary maintenance and testing window.
