What: Network storage downtime
When: Friday, July 29, 2022, 10:00 p.m. – Sunday, July 31, 2022, 11:59 p.m.
Starting at 10:00 p.m. on Friday, July 29, Information Technology Services (ITS) will be migrating the User and Group storage volumes on MyFiles to the new storage platform. During the migration, these storage volumes will be unavailable. ITS expects the work to be completed by 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, July 31.
The User and Group storage volumes contain the following data:
- All user home directories (S drive)
- Department folders (N drive) for academic departments
- Custom group space for academic departments
Due to improvements made during the 2018 storage migration, existing drive mappings will remain the same with no changes required.
Special Volumes and the MyFiles volume Migration are not being migrated to the new storage platform at this time. These storage volumes might experience some periods of brief downtime during the migration of User and Group, but these interruptions will be short, lasting no more than five minutes.
