Multi-factor authentication, or MFA, is a security measure that requires anyone logging into an account to prove their identity with a two-step process. It makes it twice as hard for criminals to access an online account. Using MFA with your online accounts is one of the most important things you can do to stay safe online.

At UNCG

All UNCG computing accounts use MFA, so you’re covered here! For more information, see Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) @ UNCG

You’ll also want to set up MFA for your other accounts that hold valuable financial or personal information like banks, financial institutions, online stores, or social media platforms. Any place online that is storing your personal information (especially financial information), or any account that can be compromised and used to trick or defraud someone else, should be protected with MFA

Simply put, use MFA everywhere!
