On Friday, January 27, 2023, and as previously announced, Information Technology Services (ITS) will begin deleting Google accounts that are no longer active. The first round will begin on January 27 for accounts that were made inactive in 2017 or before. These accounts are subject to deletion in accordance with state retention law and UNCG retention policy.
This will delete data that is owned by these accounts. This includes data currently stored in Google Drive. There will be a 21-day grace period during which an account may be restored, by request, for data recovery. After the 21-day grace period, the account and data will be unrecoverable.
