Every October, UNCG Information Technology Services (ITS), in conjunction with National Cybersecurity Alliance and the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Agency (CISA), uses Cybersecurity Awareness Month to heighten our campus community’s awareness about cyber risks and online safety practices. October 2020’s topics covered some critically important information to help us protect our identities and devices in a time of unprecedented use of remote and web-based applications to work, learn, and gather as students, educators, friends, and families. 

Cybersecurity Is Everyone’s Responsibility introduced us to the importance of individual user best practices when using personal devices. 

Cybersecurity Best Practices To-do List provided a quick-and-easy guide to protect our equipment, software, and personal information.

Healthcare IOT & You–Keeping Your Data Safe discussed how the Internet of Things (IoT) in healthcare is helpful but makes us susceptible to security breaches, and how we can protect our data while staying healthy. 

Every time we use our smartphones, smart watches, laptops, tablets, game systems, and desktop computers is an opportunity to be cyber smart!
