Information Technology Services

On Friday, June 2, 2023, at 8:15 p.m. until Saturday, June 3, 2023, at 4:35 p.m.  UNCG’s vendor, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI),  reported a significant outage that affected Banner and related services. 

The vendor reports that they have mitigated the issue and Information Technology Services (ITS)  confirms that UNCG’s Banner and related services have been restored.

ITS is unaware of any further issues and will continue to monitor services.

ITS is aware of a significant outage affecting Banner and related services. Services impacted include but are not limited to:

  • Self-Service Banner / UNCGenie
  • Banner Admin Pages
  • ODS
  • Degreeworks
  • Grouper
  • AIMS
  • Automic/UC4/AppWorx
  • and any other services that rely on Oracle databases or related infrastructure.

Our service provider, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, acknowledged the issue on Friday evening but has not resolved the issue yet.

ITS will continue to monitor the issue and will provide updated information as it becomes available.
